Welcome to Allergy Wise

Where we aim to spread awareness through an interactive and informative chat with children & teenagers on how to be a friend and advocate for someone living with allergies. I hope that by speaking with your students I will get to teach them the importance of inclusion and put an end to bullying that may arise from these situations.

“Help us spread awareness today to ensure a safer tomorrow”

importance of reading food

labels correctly.

Understanding different

scenarios and how best to

and handle them safely

and correctly.

Be aware of the seriousness of

life threatening allergies.

Interactive presentation with students

I will call to both primary & secondary schools and speak with 1st class & 1st year students about food allergies.

For 1st class students, I will deliver an engaging, age-appropriate presentation that introduces them to the concept of food allergies. Teaching them how to be an allergy friend. As they advance through primary school, they will continue to build on this foundational knowledge.”

I will then be meeting with 1st year students in all secondary schools where I will give an informative presentation on how to be an allergy friend and advocate for someone living with allergies.  I will have some trainer epi pens on hand for them to familiarise themselves and know how to use. We will look at different scenarios they could find themselves in as well as the huge importance of knowing how to read a food label correctly.

Testimonial

D O’Keeffe, 4th class teacher.

Recently, I had the opportunity to attend the ‘Allergy Wise’ informal talk on food allergies, and it really opened my eyes. Hearing about the daily struggles a child with allergies faces at school, both in terms of safety but also socially, was so impactful. The presentation shed light on both the physical effects of allergies and the emotional toll that they can take on a child’s confidence. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of awareness, inclusion and support, and is a talk that should be given in every school in the country
